Connecting with your provider from the comfort of your home

Mount Jefferson Family Medicine is pleased to offer a new and exciting way for patients to connect with their provider from the comfort of their own home.

Whether due to sickness, weather related issues or lack of transportation, we know that situations arise that might make it difficult to come to the office; but we're here to help. Through the use of telehealth, patients now have the option of attending their appointments virtually.

"Telehealth is an excellent option, especially in rural areas, for communication and counseling," says Katie Miller, FNP-C for Mount Jefferson Family Medicine. "It is an excellent way for providers to monitor chronic conditions while helping to improve their quality of life and reduce hospital admissions while also reducing healthcare costs."

During a telehealth appointment, patients visit with their provider through a private Zoom meeting. Most appointments can be conducted through Zoom, including Medicare annual physicals, follow-up visits and blood pressure checks, among others. All a patient needs is an email address and access to a computer or smartphone to participate.
