We take responsibility for your family's ongoing care needs from caring for your infant, child or adolescent to caring for you as an adult and into your later years. Our Providers




Melinda Wonsick, M.D.
Dr. Melinda Wonsick joined Mt. Jefferson Family Medicine in August 2004. She received her undergraduate degree from Capital University in Columbus, Ohio. Dr. Wonsick then received her medical degree from Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio. She completed her family practice residency and obstetrical fellowship at Aultman Hospital in Canton, Ohio. Dr. Wonsick is board certified in family medicine and provides primary care for the entire family.



Donald Huffman, D.O.
Dr. Donald Huffman received his Bachelor's degree from East Tennessee State University. He then went on to complete a Master of Business Administration at Troy University and a Master of Science in Biomedical Professions at Lincoln Memorial University. Dr. Huffman earned his medical degree from Lincoln Memorial University-DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine. He then completed a family medicine residency at East Tennessee State University.



Sharon Dilley, M.D.
Dr. Sharon Dilley received her undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and her medical degree from Harvard Medical School in Boston, Mass. She completed her residency at the Cambridge Hospital in Cambridge, Mass. Her training included 12 months of Pediatrics divided between the Cambridge Hospital and Massachusetts General Hospital. Dr. Dilley specializes in internal medicine and geriatrics. Dr. Dilley is currently accepting patients ages 16 and older.



CB Jones, PA-C
CB Jones received his Bachelor's degree from the University of Maryland before completing his physician assistant studies at Wake Forest School of Medicine. He joined Ashe Memorial Hospital in 1974, specializing in emergency medicine. Most recently, he joined Mount Jefferson Family Medicine where he works part-time three days a week, helping with primary care patients and the sick clinic.



Amanda Bundy, FNP-C
Amanda Bundy earned her nursing degree from Wilkes Community College in 2001. She went on to obtain her Bachelor’s degree from Lees-McRae in 2006 and her Master’s degree from Frontier Nursing University in 2020. Amanda spent three years working at Mountain Family Care Center before joining the team at Mount Jefferson Family Medicine.

Should you need a higher level of care than Mount Jefferson Family Medicine can provide, you are in the perfect place. Our facility is just steps from the Emergency Department at Ashe Memorial Hospital. Our providers will communicate with the hospital about the treatment you received in our office and the next steps to take.

Co-Management Agreements


Mount Jefferson Family Medicine has entered into co-management agreements with other specialty providers to promote clear communication, appropriate utilization of resources to reduce variations in care and to provide the highest quality of care.

After-Hours, Weekend and Holiday Care


Mount Jefferson Family Medicine is open only during regular business hours. In the event you require care after hours or on a weekend or holiday, we have a co-management agreement with a non-emergent walk-in clinic, which may serve you before admittance to an emergency department.

Patient Portal and Secure Messaging To Your Provider and Staff


Mount Jefferson Family Medicine utilizes AthenaHealth, INC. as our EMR (Electronic Medical Records) software, on which all aspects of the clinic's operation are documented. The EMR offers you access to a secure, HIPAA-compliant, Patient Portal. You may sign up for the patient portal for free by creating a username and a password of your choosing. It is accessible from any device such as a home computer, laptop, tablet, iPad, or smartphone. A smartphone app can easily be installed on your phone. Once registered, you may log in to your own chart, look up patient care summaries, medication lists, lab results, conditions, billing and so on. The portal allows you to send Mount Jefferson Family Medicine providers and staff secure text messages regarding your health, scheduling or account billing. The portal will direct your message to the appropriate person within the clinic. We make it our goal to answer all messages as soon as possible, but if sent after hours or on weekend days; we will answer messages within no more than 24 to 48 hours.

Direct On-Call Provider Communication


To provide our patients access to high quality care and providers they know and trust, our patients will have access to a Provider on-call, 24 hours a day, or in emergency situations, referred to the nearest emergency room. For instructions on how to reach our on-call provider, please call our main phone number (336) 846-7433.

Notice: This direct access for the patient to speak with a provider is not a triage phone line. If you have an emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.

Your discussion with the on-call provider may consist of, but is neither required nor limited to, the following examples:

Need to see a provider and timeframe for the visit.
Need for medication or adjustment to current medication. (This communication is not for prescription refills. Please utilize the main office number or the Patient Portal for the type of communication.
Immediate recommendation for patient's next steps.
Severity of the patient's condition.
Behavior modification, such as limitations on physical activity, etc.
Time interval for follow-up and next communication.

Patient Satisfaction Survey


If you have provided us with an email address, a patient satisfaction survey will be sent to your inbox after your visit, once every 90 days. Within the survey, you may give us feedback regarding your experience and quality of care provided at Mount Jefferson Family Medicine. The survey data is collected anonymously, is sorted by the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) software, and is translated into a final score monthly. We encourage you to communicate your thoughts and feelings regarding our service to you via this tool.

Insurance and Billing


Mount Jefferson Family Medicine accepts most major insurance plans. If you are uninsured, ask us about payment options when you visit.
