“The Frank M. James Memorial Golf Tournament is a wonderful example of what makes Ashe County special,” AMH Foundation Director Becky Pearson said. “Each year, golfers, sponsors, and volunteers come together in support of their community hospital, and the impact of that generosity is felt by patients and families throughout the year.”
The tournament will serve as the AMH Foundation’s primary fundraising event for 2026. The deadline to sign up for this year’s tournament is Friday, August 28. Proceeds from the event assist the hospital with important projects, equipment purchases and program support.
“The Frank M. James Golf Tournament has been a mainstay of funding for the Ashe Memorial Hospital Foundation for 32 years,” AMH Foundation Board President Alan Briggs said. “The annual support we receive from our community reflects the same commitment to building and maintaining our wonderful hospital that Frank James demonstrated for 34 years as Board member and a lifetime contributor.
“Our Foundation has a proud record of support for hospital programs and facility improvements through donor contributions and events like our golf tournament,” Briggs added. “From the Mountain Hearts Wellness Center, the Wilma Vannoy Birthing Center and patient rooms to the nursing station remodel and ever-growing Jo Anne Poe Cancer Center, we are a vital part of making Ashe Memorial Hospital a model for rural communities. We look forward to another fun event and the continued strong support from our local communities and businesses.”
