Ashe Memorial Hospital offers both inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation services including physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy.
Inpatient Rehabilitation Services
If you are a patient in the hospital and rehabilitation or a lifestyle modification is necessary to help you lead a healthier life, you will be visited by a therapist before you are discharged.
Outpatient Rehabilitation Services
If you are not a patient in at Ashe Memorial Hospital, we offer many rehabilitation services including cardiac rehabilitation, pulmonary rehabilitation, physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy.
Living with diabetes requires careful management to maintain your activity level and your level of overall health. At Ashe Memorial Hospital, we offer Diabetes Self-Management Training to help diabetes patients take control of their disease. The program incorporates both exercise and nutrition services, and focuses on educating patients and their families about diabetes.
The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services and Net-Integrated Consulting have audited this program and given it accolades for its organization, ability to communicate with doctors and ability to hold patients accountable for their individual goals. The American Diabetes Association has accredited the program since 2006.
Patients are offered a one-on-one one-hour appointment with a diabetes nurse educator along with nine hours of group education. Then patients receive two hours of refresher education each year.
