Position: Hospitalist 

Shift: PRN

Job Description

The Hospitalist shall provide medical and administrative services to AMH and medical staff, and shall work with the medical staff and AMH employees. The Hospitalist shall conduct the duties of Hospitalist, practice medicine and monitor procedures and activities so as to assure compliance with the requirements and recommendations of the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations, regulatory agencies, state and federal laws, the; policies and procedures of the AMH, bylaws and rules and regulations of the medical staff, and current standards of medical practice.

  • Previous critical access Hospitalist experience preferred

Job Description

To operate computerized tomography equipment to produce images of the body for diagnostic purposes as directed by Radiologists. The essential responsibility is to be able to operate the departments CT scanner as prescribed by operation manual and radiologic equipment to produce radiographs of the body for diagnostic purposes. 

Qualifications

Experience:

  • At least 1 year Radiology/CT experience preferred  

License/Certifications:

  • ARRT at the CT level

Position: Surgical Services RN

Shift: Days with call

Job Description

Plans, prepares, and provides direct patient care to pediatric through geriatric patient populations using the nursing process. Addresses the psycho-social, physical and general aspects of care related to the surgical environment. Communicates with surgeon and anesthesiologist continuously and as needed about patient condition. Assists with the maintenance of surgical equipment and inventory. Participates in performance improvement activities. Responsible for monitoring patient's physiological status in the immediate post-operative environment. Communicates with surgeon and anesthesiologist; receives direction for patient management. Intercedes to maintain optimum homeostasis. Handles confidential information regarding patient records, department and hospital activities. Makes daily nursing judgement and moderate to hard decisions involving interpretation of general policy and procedure. Has some input into budget regarding equipment. Inter-relates with other departments personnel on a daily basis. Performs all work with accordance to the mission, visions, and values of Ashe Memorial Hospital (AMH).

  • Minimum of 1 year experience in Nursing
  • Previous experience in OR and PACU preferred

Position: Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT)

Job Description

To obtain appropriate, properly labeled, and process specimens from inpatients and outpatients at Ashe Memorial Hospital and other out-reach facilities, to assist in the handling of those specimens to ensure proper delivery to the testing site, and to assist in the clerical and telephone duties in the laboratory. To perform independently, without direct supervision, medical laboratory tests, procedures, experiments, and analysis, to provide data for diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease. Other duties as required. Performs all work with accordance to the mission, visions, and values of Ashe Memorial Hospital (AMH). 

Qualifications

License/Certifications: Must have one of the following before being hired

  • Clinical Laboratory Scientist (NCA, ISCLT formerly ASMT) 
  • Medical Technologist (ASCP)
  • Medical Technologist (AMT, HEW)
  • Medical Laboratory Technician (ASCP, AMT)
  • Qualify under CFR 493.1489, February 28, 1992 for high complexity testing or were performing high complexity testing on or before January 19, 1993 (Federal Register/Vol 60, No. 78, April 24, 1995.
  • Current CPR certification

Position: Paramedic -  Emergency Department

Job Description

The North Carolina certified Paramedic functions and plays an integral role as a part of the clinical patient care team in the Emergency Department (ED) under the direction/supervision of the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Medical Director of Medical Oversight (e.g., ED physician or Licensed Independent Practitioner, LIP) delivering the highest quality of compassionate patient care. The Paramedic operates within the defined scope of practice as defined by the Medical Director and North Carolina Office of EMS (NCOEMS) safely providing direct and indirect patient care (adhering to National Patient Safety Goals and CMS guidelines), observation, specified treatment and procedures while maintaining personal while maintaining personal safety as well as effectively collecting and communicating pertinent data, physical, clinical and psychosocial findings within the patient care team including, but not limited to, nursing and LIPs. Qualifications

Experience:

  • Minimum of 1 year recent experience as North Carolina certified EMT-Paramedic  

License/Certifications:

  • Current North Carolina Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic certification
  • Current CPR, ACLS, PALS and International Trauma Life Support (ITLS) or trauma equivalent certification

Position: Physical Therapist

Job Description

Responsible for evaluation, planning, directing and administering physical therapy modalities of treatment as prescribed by a licensed physician. Administers treatments and physical agents as prescribed by a referring physician in an effort to restore function and prevent disability following injure, disease or physical disability. Assists patients to reach their maximum performance and level of functioning, while learning to live within the limits of their capabilities. The staff therapist coordinates, delegates and supervises responsibilities assigned to supportive staff (RCNA, PTA, PTLA, etc.). Ensures that patient charges are accurate and entered on a timely basis. Participates in all infection control, departmental training, organizational safety and fire safety programs.

  • Previous experience preferred 

Education: 

  • Graduate of an accredited school of Physical Therapy or graduate of accredited college or university with a certificate in Physical Therapy.

Position: Mammography Technologist

Job Description

To operate mammography equipment to produce mammography films for diagnostic purposes as directed by Radiologists. The essential responsibilities is to be able to operate the departments Mammography Unit as prescribed by operation manual, properly position patient and machine to obtain optimum views, operate darkroom equipment, and maintain records properly.  

Qualifications

Experience:

  • At least 1 year of Mammography experience preferred, but less experienced applicant would be considered   

License/Certifications:

  • Registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) at the Mammography level 
  • CPR certification
