AMH Foundation

For more than two decades, the AMH Foundation has supported capital improvement efforts at Ashe Memorial Hospital. Ashe Memorial is so grateful for the contributions of the AMH Foundation and its members.

Among the contributions made by the AMH Foundation (listed by year) are:

  • 1993 - $22,982 raised to help purchase endoscopy equipment.
  • 1994 - $63,613 raised to assist in the building of the Mountain Hearts facility.
  • 1995 - $73,000 raised to renovate the hospital dining room, a facility used by patients and visitors as well as medical staff and employees.
  • 1996 - $90,000 raised to assist in new construction and renovation of the Emergency and Admissions area, creating a beautiful and functional, as well as more spacious, new Emergency Department.
  • 1997- $156,940 raised to assist in construction of the therapeutic swimming pool at Mountain Hearts, the largest fundraising effort to date and a very popular addition to the hospital facility.
  • 1998 - $71,194 raised to renovate patient rooms, adding new furniture, wall coverings, blinds, wallpaper, and paint to enhance patients' stays in the hospital.
  • 1999 - $103,103 raised to relocate and construct the Monitored Bed Unit, providing much-needed additional space, a family waiting room, and more efficient staff workspace.
  • 2000 - $117,340 raised to purchase 22 Hill-Rom patient beds focusing on the comfort and needs of patients.
  • 2001 - $109,753 raised to purchase two Total Care beds for the Monitored Bed Unit and two Birthing Beds for Obstetrics, and create a waiting room on the second floor for family and visitors.
  • 2002 - $206,000 raised for Second Floor Nursing Station renovation.
  • 2003 - $122,256 raised for Laboratory/Pharmacy renovation.
  • 2004 - $580,000 raised for renovation of birthing center.
  • 2005 - $160,862 raised for renovation of SCC Dining Room & Resident Bath Area, Renovation of Hospital Communication Ctr.
  • 2006 - $218,097 raised for the renovation of Physical Therapy Department and Patient Rooms.
  • 2007 - $198,658 raised for renovation of the dining room, purchase a new security camera system, cardiac unit and stretchers.
  • 2008 - $217,140 raised for purchase of Mountain Hearts telemetry monitoring system; AED; billing software; treadmill, Autoclave and handicap toilets; Compliance and Classroom renovation.
  • 2009 - $180,635 raised for renovation of 2 patient rooms; a scheduling module; 2 recumbent bikes; 18 patient bed mattresses; an Imaging Treadmill with monitor; Ultrasound Stretcher and equipment for the Emergency Department.
  • 2010 - $145,725 raised for new Mammography Exam Room with office space; Laboratory Equipment; Dietary Equipment; Nautilus Equipment for Mountain Hearts; ED Patient Monitors; New TV's for 12 patient rooms and ED Waiting Rooms.
  • 2011 - $141,489 raised for the upgrade of the hospital's wireless computer system, purchase 3 Emergency Department Stretchers, 3 Infusion Chairs and renovate 2 patient rooms.
  • 2012 - 131,901 raised for the Renovation of the Emergency Room/Registration Area.
  • $511,828 Endowment Funds.
