Ashe Memorial Hospital is experiencing issues with our online bill pay system. For patients trying to pay statements dated prior to August 2023, the system does not recognize the account number and these patients will need to call 336-846-0725 and follow the prompts to make a payment. We are working to resolve this issue as soon as possible and apologize for the inconvenience.

Can I get an estimate of the charges associated with the treatment and services I expect to receive?

To receive an estimate of charges, call 336-846-0725, Option 2. Please keep in mind that this is only an estimate. Actual charges may vary depending on the treatment your physician orders for you.

Will Ashe Memorial Hospital file my insurance?

Ashe Memorial Hospital will file your health insurance as a courtesy. Please review your policy for pre-admission and managed care plan requirements. It is your responsibility to ensure that all pre-approval requirements are met.

When will I be billed and what will be included?

Ashe Memorial Hospital bills each encounter as a separate account and you can have multiple accounts for any date of service or visit. When the balance due on an individual account is determined to be patient responsibility, a statement will be sent to the responsible party. As new accounts become patient responsibility, they will be added to your monthly statement. Ashe Memorial Hospital will only bill for services provided by our facility. You may receive a separate bill from Emergency Department physicians, radiology providers, lab providers, or physicians in our local practices.
 

How do I request an itemized bill?

Call Ashe Memorial Hospital's customer service line at 336-846-0725 and ask one of our Financial Counselors to provide you an itemized bill. You will receive your itemized bill within 5 to 10 business days of the request.

What types of assistance does Ashe Memorial Hospital provide to uninsured patients?

Uninsured Discount:
Ashe Memorial Hospital offers uninsured patients an automatic 20% discount for hospital services not covered under any other pre-arranged discount or for which a third party may have responsibility. This discount will be automatically applied to your bill. This discount only applies if there is no other source of payment, such as health insurer or a third party who is or may be liable for your medical expenses. Prompt Pay Discount:
Ashe Memorial Hospital offers uninsured patients a 20% prompt pay discount (in addition to the 20% uninsured discount) when medically necessary services are paid in full at the time of service, upon request, or during their first billing cycle. You can find our Prompt Pay Discount Policy here.

Is financial assistance available?

Yes. To apply, print and mail the financial statement forms located here and return it to the address in the instructions. If you are unable to print the form, or want additional information prior to completing it, contact Financial Counseling at 336-846-0725.

Ashe Memorial Hospital offers a patient portal here to help you find all the information you need about your health information.
