Position Description:
Responsible for patient care while patient is in Mountain Family Care Center, under the supervision of the Medical Director of the Mountain Family Care Center.

Monday - Friday: 1-9 pm, Saturday: 8:00 - 4:00 p.m.
The above wage range reflects the minimum, midpoint and maximum hourly rate for this position. New employees are hired between the minimum and midpoint of this range. The initial wage offered will be based on qualifications and experience.

Qualifications:
Education:
Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner Program
Experience:
Previous experience preferred.
License Required:
Certified with National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants, Initial Certification and meet the regulations NC Board of Medical Examiners, or Certified Nurse Practitioner.
Working Conditions:
Ability to lift a minimum of 75 pounds; visual and hearing ability for patient care activities;
General indoor conditions;
Exposure to below 72 degree temperatures;
Recognize slight differences in shape, color, and texture for difference types of lab tests;
Light to moderate noise;
Good verbal and written communication skills necessary for job requirements;
Weekend and evening work required.
Occupational Hazards:
Potential for exposure to infectious patients or materials is negligible.
Potential for exposure to hazardous and toxic substances (including blood, urine, body fluids and cleaning solutions).
Potential for sticks or cuts by needles and other sharp items.
Potential for musculoskeletal injurines if proper lifting and carrying techniques are not used.
Duties of the Job:
1. Makes appropriate explanation to patients regarding procedures.
2. Monitors patient and physician satisfaction and follows through on needs identified through the monitoring process.
3. Maintains current basic medical knowledge.
4. Demonstrates competence and skill in the application of knowledge.
5. Performance of History and Physical Exam proficiently. Record review will show 95% or higher compliance with documentation proficiency.
6. Record keeping is accurate, complete and timely.
7. Keeps Rural Health Clinic Medical Director informed of unusual occurrences.
8. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills to provide care appropriate to the age and gender.
9. Treats patients and their families with respect and dignity.
10. Abide by policies and procedures of Ashe Memorial Hospital.
11. Ability to work other locations.
12. Assist with other duties as assigned.
