Materiels Management


Our Materiels Management Department continues to provide basic support services to all departments of Ashe Memorial Hospital. Services include contract utilization, centralized purchasing (including capital equipment), receiving, shipping, inventory control, stocking, distribution, and proper allocating of expenses.

Over the past several years, the Materiels Management Department has evolved in the role of support. Changes in healthcare regulations have forced us to look for creative ways to meet these changes. No longer does providing the most cost-effective delivery of supplies mean “obtaining the lowest price.”

Utilization and standardization have become major players in providing the most cost-effective means of delivering supplies and services. Avenues pursued and implemented by the hospital have impacted our facility in a positive way. Materiels Management continues to investigate avenues that reduce cost to the facility and enhances services to our community.

Materiels Management staff consists of five staff members: Materiel Manager, Purchasing Agent, Inventory Control Clerk, Materiels Handler/Distribution Clerk, Materiels Handler/Receiving Clerk. Our Materiels Management team works hand in hand to meet the needs of our customers and we are proud that the Materiels Management Department takes an active role in facing today’s healthcare challenges, helping make it possible for Ashe Memorial Hospital to meet the needs of our community as a primary healthcare provider.
