Linen Department

The Linen Department at Ashe Memorial Hospital supplies the facility with over thirty different types of linen products, everything from OR scrub wear to wash cloths. The Linen Department services twelve areas, including a new line of hotel grade linens for the Wilma Vannoy Birthing Center. At first glance, conducting a physical linen inventory may seem daunting. It requires a lot of time and energy and can distract and disrupt the everyday order of things. However, with proper organization and planning, conducting such an inventory is less complicated than it looks and is a valuable part of a healthcare facility's operation. The department also processes personal clothes for residents at Segraves Care Center. Screening, stocking, and re-labeling of items can be a challenging job, handling thousands of pounds of personal items each week. "The Linen Department has a competent and caring staff that have a common goal of putting the patient and resident's needs first," explained John Hardin, Linen Department Manager.
