Health Information Services
The Medical Records Department has evolved over the years into what is now known as the Health Information Department. It has moved into the 21st century continuing to protect patient information with the enactment of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act.
The following departments are “mini” departments located under the title of Health Information Services Department:
· Transcription
· Coding
· Correspondence
· Medical Staff Coordinator.
Each “mini” department boasts a dedicated and trained staff capable of typing dictated reports, completing birth certificates, preparing patient information for insurance companies and other entities, assigning codes to diagnoses and procedures, credentialing physicians and coordinating with nursing and physicians to provide excellent patient care.
The Health Information Services Department is open Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.
