Clinical Dietitian

At Ashe Memorial Hospital/Segraves Care Center, we strive to not only provide quality food service but quality nutrition care as well for all patients and residents. Nutrition care is provided by Clinical Dietitian, Karen Creed, R.D., LDN. Creed graduated from the University of Northern Colorado in 1997. She completed a Dietetic Internship program in July 1997 and achieved her Registered Dietitian status in November 1997. Creed is responsible for providing medical nutrition therapy and counseling as needed to patients of Ashe Memorial Hospital, residents of Segraves Care Center, and outpatient of Mountain Hearts Center for Prevention and Wellness and by physician referral. Creed collaborates with Dietary Manager, Ruth Neaves, to ensure quality nutrition services are provided at Ashe Memorial Hospital.
Good health begins with a well balanced diet containing lean meat with meat substitute, fresh fruits/vegetables and whole grain breads and cereals. Portion control is essential in weight maintenance. Your diet plays a major role in prevention and management of diseases such as diabetes, heart disease and hypertension. Creed is available to provide nutrition counseling and education materials to those in need of nutrition services.
