Accounting


The Accounting Department is an essential support department of the hospital. It is made up of an Accounting Manager, Kim Harless; Payroll Clerk, Angel Jones; and a Payroll/Accounts Payable Clerk, Jessica Murphy. The Accounting Department is broken into three main areas of operation: Accounts Payable – which processes over 5000 vendor checks a year; Payroll-which processes biweekly payroll for over 250 employees, and
General Ledger-which records and maintains all journal entries made by various departments throughout the hospital.
Accounting is also responsible for maintaining fixed asset ledgers, calculating accumulated depreciation, reconciliation of bank statements, budget compilation, monthly departmental report submission, statistical surveys,Quality Improvement projects, sales and use tax, W-2 and 1099 processing, as well as a host of other duties. It is our mission, as the Accounting Department, to provide optimal support services in accordance with professional standards, regulatory requirements, and established guidelines. This enables us to safeguard the assets of Ashe Memorial Hospital/Segraves Care Center and to maintain the financial power that supports quality health care at a reasonable cost for our community.
